OUR STORY | MEET ANDREAS + DEJAY

Andreas and Dejay met in 2000 while Dejay was a personal trainer at another fitness center where Andreas was training for what would have been his third US swimming Olympic trials. His trainer at the time thought they would make a cute couple and set them up on a blind date that neither of them was aware of.

Fast forward 22 years later…

They have spent the last 22 years raising 5 children and building businesses together.

Rock Sports Club is not their first business venture together. In 2003, while still dating, they started a little retail shop in their back garage called, “Swim New Jersey”.  Swim New Jersey grew into their lively-hood and they spent over 12 years outfitting swim teams & beach patrols throughout the north-east. This wasn’t the end-game for them though and throughout that entire time, they pursued the ultimate goal.  Andreas and Dejay were going to build an impressive aquatic training facility that Andreas could train his own swim team, New Jersey Race Club, out of.

In order to facilitate that pursuit of something bigger, they sold Swim New Jersey to one of their larger competitors, and Dejay decided to chase after one of her childhood dreams of being a stunt woman in order to supplement their income.  They were both focused on the goal.  Andreas & Dejay were able to get a facility built through the help of investors but had very little to do with the overall operations.  After changing hands from the original investors, they were given this amazing opportunity to make this all theirs.  They are grateful every day for that opportunity and for the long challenging road that brought them here.
